What Is a Mandibular Advancement Device?

A Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) is a small, custom-made mouthpiece worn during sleep. It gently holds your lower jaw forward to keep your airway open—reducing snoring and improving airflow for people with mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA).

It’s silent, compact, and ideal for those who:

  • Snore without stopping breathing (Hypopnoea)
  • Have mild or moderate OSA
  • Can’t tolerate CPAP therapy

How the Program Works

Here’s how we support you from start to finish:

  1. OTC Device Trial – Start with an HushD Avera MAD from our clinic. Simple, low-cost, and easy to self-fit.
  2. 2–Week Home Trial – Wear the device nightly and record your experience. We support you with usage tips and troubleshooting.
  3. A-Link Apnoea Screening – Complete a Level 3 sleep study with the device in place to confirm effectiveness.
  4. Review & Report – Our team reviews your results and provides a summary to your referring doctor. If it’s working—great! Time to go custom.
  5. 3D Dental MAD Referral – We connect you directly with a trusted dental provider through the GoodSleep Co platform for a custom-fitted 3D printed nylon device.
